My ideas

and views in photography
Bellfoundry Magazin print - 00.jpg

My internet gallery

will be completed, changed and extended continuously.
I will add and exchange pictures and projects.
As a viewer you should always discover something new
and rediscover the old.

This exhibition should live.

If you look at a photograph, you have to take your time. A good image has an effect on the viewer and can be felt. A good photograph is much more than just information. It is mood, it is light and shadow. It contains color nuances, detailed shades of gray in black and white, brightness and darkness. A good photograph is spring, summer, fall and winter. It is cold and warm. And - it can take the viewer back to a quiet world of seeing.

I print my photography in high-resolution, archive-proof quality. Acid-free, bleach-free, heavy photo cardboard is the carrier material for every digital print. The pure pigment inks I use are chemical-free and contain only natural dyes. This results in museum-quality prints with a shelf life of over 100 years if stored correctly.

Unfortunately, in today's increasingly fast-paced world of media and the internet, audiovisual stimuli are increasing at an inflationary rate. We are inundated with the amount of images and information we receive. The viewer has less and less time to look at, absorb and understand things. All too often, the content of images is no longer perceived beyond the mere “image”. Photographs are clicked on quickly on computers. They are “waved through” in tiny size on cell phones and “swiped through” on tablet computers.
Fast forward.....
As much as possible...

Today, photographs are almost always reproduced on standard screens. Their resolutions are significantly lower than human visual performance. Contrasts and colour matching on displays are generally neither calibrated, adjusted nor standardized. Our daily viewing habits are deteriorating unnoticed.

This is hitting the medium of photography hard.
Quantity and quality do not go together. The content and technical quality of photography is far from keeping pace with the huge quantity of images produced. Just think of the cell phone photos that are produced quickly and in huge quantities.

With this homepage I would like to show my ideas, my views and perspectives. I would like to convey my point of view. And I would like to encourage you to look at photography consciously again. Don't just “wipe through” pictures that are worth looking at.

Let spring, summer, fall and winter have an effect on you.
